Aid Requirements
USU Financial Aid Application no longer required
Students must still file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid [FAFSA]. We will award you based on information you report after we check some information already on file at USU. As in the past, you may be required to submit verification of some items. Students may call toll-free 1-800-4 FED AID (1-800-433-3243) to do application status checks, request a duplicate Student Aid Report, change their address (with the Department of Education), and request PIN numbers. All services that are offered by the Federal Student Aid Information Center, from application assistance to loan tracking, are now offered on this one number.
How to Apply for Financial Aid at USU
Because of complex federal requirements, it can take up to three months to process an accurate application. Errors will delay your award even more. Campus-based funds are awarded according to need to the earliest applicants. Once these limited funds have been awarded, applicants will be considered for Pell Grants and Stafford Loans only.
Dates and Deadlines
Apply early. New and transfer students apply for financial aid on their application for admission. February 1st is the deadline for many scholarships.
USU Financial Aid Deadline
The FAFSA can now be completed on-line. Forms required by USU are also available for download as .PDF files.
