About Me

I joined the USU Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning faculty in 2012. I hold a Master of Urban Design from UC Berkeley and a Master of Landscape Design from the Conway School of Landscape Design. My professional history spans thirty-five years, and covers a broad spectrum of work that includes design/build, development planning, parks and open space design, urban design, community facilitation and the construction of catalyst urban projects. For the past twenty-three years, my practice was centered in California and includes award-winning public planning, design and construction projects.

My areas of expertise include graphics and design, community facilitation, downtown and corridor revitalization, public infrastructure design and construction, and ecological urbanism. Before joining the USU faculty, I was an instructor in the UC Berkeley Landscape Architecture Extension program with a focus on graphics, design and construction courses. I am a licensed landscape architect in California and Massachusetts and a Certified Charrette Facilitator with the National Charrette Institute.

An increasing focus of the LAEP curriculum has been the need for student internships prior to graduation. Students who have an internship in their junior or second year of the grad program add valuable work experience to their resume and are often hired by the same employer after obtaining their degree. I was given the unique opportunity to develop the new internship program by meeting with firms and agencies to set up work experience for students and then can match LAEP students with employers.  I also meet with students on a daily basis regarding their internship/job aspirations and provide assistance with resumes' and portfolios.
