Zach was born and raised in Sandy Utah. Starting from a young age, he has long had an interest in Landscape design. He graduated with a degree in Asian Studies with a minor in Mandarin Chinese from Brigham Young University. During his time at BYU he had the opportunity to attend a full-semester study abroad in Nanjing China where, when not busy with Chinese courses, he was able to explore the many classical gardens there. Though he has had a life-long interest in Asia, eventually he decided it was best to pursue a career in landscape architecture. However, he hopes to be able to apply what he learned in his undergraduate degree and personal study of traditional Asian garden design in his future career as a landscape designer.
